In a large soup pot on med-high heat add olive oil. Allow for it to get hot.
Add onion, celery, carrots, and garlic and mix. Cook for 10 minutes until onions are tender. Mix occasionally.
Add crushed tomatoes, vegetable broth, and lentils. Stir, cover, and bring to boil. You will want to stir every few minutes so the lentils don't stick to the bottom.
Remove cover and simmer on low heat until the lentils are tender. Again, stir occasionally so the lentils don't stick to the bottom.
Remove from heat & enjoy!
